AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 91172, AS AMENDED, SO AS TO ADD
AN ANNUAL MINIMUM DOMESTIC RAW WATER CHARGE TO THE RATES
AS SET OUT UNDER "UNTREATED WATER - INDUSTRIAL, MUNICIPAL
AND DOMESTIC" SECTION AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN COINFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A SEVERANCE
CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT ORDINANCE IJO. 91172, PASSED AND APPROVED BY T.HE
CITY COUNCIL ON AUGUST 27, 1969, AS AMENDED, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY
AMENDED SO AS TO ADD AN ANNUAL MINIMUM DOMESTIC RAW WATER CHARGE TO THE
RATES AS SET OUT UNDER "UNTREATED WATER - INDUSTRIAL, MUNICIPAL AND
DOMESTIC" SECTION, TO HEREAFTER BE INCLUDED IN THE AFORESAID SECTION,
READING AS FOLLOWS:
"UNTREATED WATER - INDUSTRIAL, MUNICIPAL AND DOMESTIC
ALL UNTREATED WATER SOLD AND DELIVERED AT THE CALALLEN POOL,
LAKE CORPUS CHRISTI, OR ANY OTHEIt POINT OF UELIVLRY WHLRE SUCH WATER IS
AVAILABLE DIRECTLY TO THE CONSUI4ER SHALL BE AT THE FOLLOWING RATES:
COMMODITY CHARGE
FOR ALL WATER CONSUMED $.O6 PER 1000 GALLONS
MINIMUM CHARGE
MINIMUM MONTHLY CHARGE,
INDUSTRIAL $i1OO.O0
MINIMUM MONTHLY CHARGE,
MUNICIPAL BY CONTRACT
MINIMUM MONTHLY CHARGE,
DOMESTIC $3.00
MINIMUM ANNUAL CHARGE,
DOMESTIC .$6214.00 "
SECTION 2. THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH SHALL BE AND ARE HEREBY REPEALED.
SECTION 3. IF FOR ANY REASON ANY SECTION, PARAGRAPH, SUBDIVISION,
CLAUSE, PHRASE OR PROVISION OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE HELD INVALID BY FINAL
JUDGMENT OF A COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION, IT SHALL NOT AFFECT ANY
VALID PROVISIONS OF THIS OR ANY OTHER ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI TO WHICH THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATE.
SECTION 4. PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE ONE TIME IN THE OFFICIAL
PUBLICATION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, WHICH PUBLICATION SHALL CON-
TAIN fHE CAPTION STATING IN SUBSTANCE THE PURPOSE OF TFIE ORDINANCE.

SECTION 5. THE NECESSITY TO AMEND THE WATER RATE ORDINANCE
AS HCREINABOVE SET FORTH IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR A MINIMUM ANNUAL DOMESTIC
RAW WATER CHARGE CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC
NECESSITY REQUIR114G THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE
OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION
BUT THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL
MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY
AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER
RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRO-
DUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER
ITS PASSAGE AND PUBLICATION, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE

SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 11 THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
