HomeMy WebLinkAbout10345 ORD - 07/14/19710 6/30/71:e • AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 21 -156, SCHEDULE IV, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THERE SHALL BE NO STOPPING, STANDING, OR PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF LIPAN STREET, BETWEEN UPPER BROADWAY AND N. STAPLES STREET, BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7:00 A.M. AND 9:00 A.M., AND ON THE NORTH SIDE OF LIPAN STREET, BETWEEN UPPER BROADWAY AND N. STAPLES STREET,BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 4:00 P.M. AND 6:00 P.M.; PROVIDING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Corpus Christi City Code, 1958, as amended, be amended, by changing Section 21 -156, Schedule IV, Items 11 and 12 (particularly as amended by Ordinance 8673) so as to hereafter read as follows: HOURS STOPPING, STANDING NAME OF STREET OR PARKING PROHIBITED N "11. LIPAN STREET, south side, between Upper Broadway and N. Staples Street Between 7:00 A.M. 8 9:00 A.M. 12. LIPAN STREET, north side, between Upper Broadway and N. Staples Street Between 4:00 P.M. 6 6:00 P.M." SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, or provision of this Ordinance shall be held invalid by final judgment of a court of competent juris- diction, it shall not affect any valid provisions of this or any other ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi to which these rules and regulations relate. SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith shall be and are hereby repealed to the extent of conflict herewith. SECTION 4. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi one time, which publi- cation shall contain the caption, stating in substance the purpose of the Ordinance. 1®3419 C • SECTION 5. The necessity to maintain a comprehensive traffic control plan at all times, and the necessity to make the changes necessary to implement such plan at the earliest possible date, creates a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordi- nance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the A % day of July, 1971.
