A RESOLUTION
EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO MAKE APPLICATION
UNDER TITLE VII OF THE HOUSING ACT OF 1961, AS,
AMENDED, FOR A FEDERAL GRANT TO ACQUIRE AND DE-
VELOP OPEN SPACE LAND (HUDSON ACRES PARK);
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DELETE THE LAND
DESCRIBED IN SAID APPLICATION AND SUBSTITUTE
CERTAIN OTHER LAND IN LIEU THEREOF; AND DECLAR-
ING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI PASSED
ON APRIL 1, 1970, A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO MAKE APPLICATION UNDER TITLE VII OF THE
HOUSING ACT OF 1961, AS AMENDED, FOR A FEDERAL GRANT TO ACQUIRE AND DEVELOP
OPEN -SPACE LAND (HUDSON ACRES PARK); AND
WHEREAS, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN HIM THE CITY MANAGER
SUBMITTED SAID APPLICATION ON APRIL 3, 1970; AND
WHEREAS, SAID APPLICATION CONTAINED A DESCRIPTION OF THE LAND TO
BE ACQUIRED FOR THE HUDSON ACRES PARK WHICH IS DESCRIBED IN SAID APPLICA-
TION AND INCORPORATED HEREIN BY REFERENCE THE SAME AS IF Wk1TTEN HLRLIN;
AND
WHEREAS, CERTAIN DEVELOPMENTS IN AND AROUND THE AREA DESIGNATED
FOR SAID PARK HAVE MADE IT DESIRABLE AND IMPERATIVE THAT THE LOCATION OF
SAID PARK BE CHANGED:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED-BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE AUTHORIZED TO CHANGE THE
APPLICATION FOR GRANT TO ACQUIRE AND DEVELOP LAND FOR OPEN -SPACE ACTIVITIES
SUBMITTED BY THE CITY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
ON APRIL 3, 1970, AND DESIGNATED AS HUDSON ACRES PARK, TEX- OSC -79, BY
DELETING THE LOCATION OF SAID PARK CONTAINED IN THE APPLICATION AND SUBSTI-
TUTING IN LIEU THEREOF 3.25 ACRES OF LAND OUT OF LOT 24, H. B. SHEPPARD
TRACT, AND MORE FULLY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "AP, WHICH IS INCORPORATED HERE-
IN BY REFERENCE, THE SAME AS IF WRITTEN HEREIN; AND THAT THE CITY MANAGER
BE AUTHORIZED TO MAKE WHATEVER OTHER ADJUSTMENTS ARE REQUIRED TO BE MADE
IN THE APPLICATION TO REFLECT THIS SITE CHANGE.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Being a 380 foot by 372:55 foot tract of land out of Lot 24, H. B. Sheppard Farm
Lots as platted by map filed in Vol. "A ", Pg. 51, Map Records of Nueces County,
Texas, and more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a point, being the Southwest corner of Lot 43, Block 1, Subdivision
of Hudson Acres as recorded in Vol. 13, pg. 44 and 453 flap Records of Eueces
County, Texas, also being the point of intersection of the S9est boundary line of
said Hudson Acres and the Ilorth right -of -gray line of Erne Street;
Thence S. Oo 14' W. along the Wast boundary line of said Hudson Acres a distance
Of 380 feet to a point for a corner of this tract;

1970, INSOFAR AS IT DOES NOT CONFLICT WITH THIS RESOLUTION BE INCORPORATED
HEREIN BY REFERENCE AND MADE A PART HEREOF THE SAME AS IF WRITTEN HEREIN.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
PROMPTLY CHANGE THE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL FUNDS FOR THE ABOVE PURPOSES,
CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING
THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE
PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCI, AND
THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING
REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN
FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER
