HomeMy WebLinkAbout10378 ORD - 07/28/1971• AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18A, GOLF COURSE SCHEDULE OF GREEN FEES AND REGULATION, OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED, AND IN PARTICULAR AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 7658, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON JULY 28, 1965, BY AMENDING SECTION 18A -1, SO AS TO ESTABLISH A NEW GREENS FEE SCHEDULE FOR THE OSO MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED, AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE No. 7658, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON JULY 28, 1965, BE, AND THE SAME IS HEREBY, AMENDED BY AMENDING SECTION 18A -1 OF CHAPTER 18A, GOLF COURSE SCHEDULE OF GREEN FEES AND REGULATION, TO HEREAFTER READ AS FOLLOWS: "SECTION 18A -1. SCHEDULE. THAT THE RATES TO BE CHARGED AS GREENS FEES IN THE USE OF THE OSO MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE TO BE PAID BY ALL USERS OF THAT CITY RECREATIONAL rn..l LiTY, onnc� Bc nS rncaLnloED on '!ME FOLLOWING SCHEDULE: SCHEDULE OF RATES OF GREEN FEES FOR USE OF OSO MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE MONTHLY RATE (ADULT, UNRESTRICTED) $15.00 MONTHLY RATE (ADULTS, WEEK DAYS ONLY) 12.00 MONTHLY RATE (SCHOOL CHILDREN THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL GRADES) 5.00 DAILY RATE (SATURDAY, SUNDAY, HOLIDAYS) 2.50 DAILY RATE (WEEK DAYS) 2.00 LATE RATE (WEEK DAYS, 3:30 P.M., NOVEMBER THROUGH APRIL) 1.25 WEEK DAYS, 4:30 P.M., MAY THROUGH OCTOBER) - 1.50 DAILY RATE (SCHOOL CHILDREN THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL GRADES, WEEK DAYS ONLY) .75 LOCKERS (DAILY) .50 10378 • • "NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION HEREOF, DISCRETION IS HEREBY VESTED IN THE CITY MANAGER, THE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD AND THE DIRECTOR OF THE PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND UPON THE CONCURRENCE OF THE CITY MANAGER AND THE DIRECTOR OF THE PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT WITH THE MAJORITY OF THE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD, GREEN FEES MAY BE WAIVED DURING OFFICIAL JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENTS SO AS TO PERMIT HIGH SCHOOL GOLF TEAMS TO CONDUCT THEIR TOURNAMENTS ON A MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE WITHOUT PAYMENT OF GREEN FEES. THE WAIVER SHALL APPLY IF AUTHORIZED ONLY FOR OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT PLAN, AND A SEPARATE WRITTEN EXPRESSION OF WAIVER OF FEE SHALL BE REQUIRED FOR EACH TOURNAMENT." SECTION 2. THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM AND AFTER AUGUST 1, 1971. SECTION 3. PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE IN THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, ONE TIME, WHICH PUBLICATION SHALL CONTAIN THE CAPTION STATING IN SUBSTANCE THE PURPOSE OF THE ORDINANCE. SECTION 4. THE NECESSITY FOR ADOPTING A NEW SCHEDULE OF FEES AT THE OSO MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION BUT THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND- NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER AUGUST 1, 1971, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE 4 4L DAY OF , 1971.
