AN ORDINANCE
APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE WRITTEN STATEMENT AND
REPORT OF THE DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING SERVICES,
SHOWING ESTIMATES OF THE VARIOUS COSTS FOR THE IMPROVE-
MENT OF THE FOLLOWING STREETS IN THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS:
1. GOLLIHAR ROAD FROM THE CENTER LINE OF KOSTORYZ ROAD
TO EXISTING STREET IMPROVEMENTS APPROXIMATELY 100
LINEAR FEET NORTHWEST OF DORY STREET;
Z. KOSTORY2 ROAD (EAST SIDE ONLY) FROM THE CENTER LINE

A HEARING TO BE HELD OCTOBER 6, 1971, AT 3:00 O'CLOCK
P.M., TO GIVE NOTICE OF SAID HEARING AS REQUIRED BY THE

WHEREAS, HERETOFORE ON THE 1ST DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1971, THE CITY
COUNCIL BY ENACTMENT OF ORDINANCE N0. / a DETERMINED THAT IT WAS NECES-
SARY TO IMPROVE THE FOLLOWING'BY PAVING:

WHEREAS, BY THE TERMS OF SAID ORDINANCE, SPECIFICATIONS WERE
ORDERED TO BE 14ADE BY THE DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING SERVICES, FOR THE IMPROVE-
MENT OF THE AFORESAID STREETS, WITHIN THE LIMITS DEFINED, AS PROVIDED BY
SAID ORDINANCE; AND
WHEREAS, THE SAID SPECIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN PREPARED AND ARE
NOW SUBMITTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL AND ADOPTION, AND
WHEREAS, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI IS OF
THE OPINION THAT IT IS NECESSARY TO LEVY AN ASSESSMENT AGAINST THE PROPERTY
AND THE OWNERS THEREOF ABUTTING UPON THE AFORESAID STREETS, WITHIN THE
LIMITS DEFINED, AND AGAINST STREET AND RAILWAY COMPANIES WHOSE TRACKS
OCCUPY SAID STREET, IF ANY, FOR A PART OF-THE COST OF IMPROVING SAID
STREET, FIXING A TIME FOR THC HEARING OF THE OWNERS OF SAID PROPERTY, AND
THE SAID RAILWAY COMPANIES, CONCERNING THE SAME, AND DIRECTING THE CITY
SECRETARY TO GIVE NOTICE OF SAID HEARING, AS REQUIRED BY LAW, AND

THE IMPROVEMENTS OF THE STREET AND PORTIONS ENUMERATED ABOVE. ANY EXISTING
CURBS OR CUTTERS IN PLACE, MECTING THE SPECIFICATIONS SET DY THE CITY
COUNCIL, OR WHICH CAN BE UTILITED, SHALL BE LEFT IN PLACE, IF ANY, AND
CORRESPONDING CREDITS TO THE PROPERTY OWNERS SHALL BE ALLOWCD ON THE
ASSESSMENTS; AND

The streets are to be constructed by excavating to a width and depth to
permit the laying of standard 6" curb and gutter sections, and the installa-
tion of pavement consisting as follows:
a) Gollihar: 5" lime stabilized base, 8" compacted caliche, prime
coat, 2-" of Type A Asphaltic Concrete and I" of Type D
Asphaltic Concrete for a total width of 61' measured
from back of curbs.
b) McDonald: 6" caliche base, prime coat, 2 course surface treatment,
28' wide measured from back of curb.
c) Josephine: 8" caliche base, prime coat, 1" hot -mix asphaltic con-
crete, 31' wide back to back of curb.
d) Ayers: 8" caliche, prime coat, 3" Type B Hot -Mix Asphaltic
Concrete, 1" Type D with. width being transitional.
Also to be constructed on this project are reinforced concrete sidewalks, 4'
wride, 4" thick, driveways where needed and requested by property owners, and
storm sewers to properly drain the streets.
The assessment rates have been determined by taking the unit prices used in
the low bid and applying these unit prices to the front footage of the
abutting properties in accordance with the assessment policy. The rates are
as follows:
