AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 12 OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE,
1958, AS AMENDED, AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 5918, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL ON OCTOBER 5, 1g60, BY AMENDING SECTION 12 -33,
SUBSECTIONS A, 6, AND C, BASIC RATE TABLE OF RENTALS,
RELATING TO RENTAL OF COLISEUM AND EXPOSITION HALL;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE;
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT CHAPTER 12 OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE,
19582 AS AMENDED, PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED 13Y ORDINANCE 5918, PASSED AND
APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON OCTOBER 5, 1960, AMENDING SECTION 12 -33,
SUBSECTIONS A, B, AND C, BASIC RATE TABLE OF RENTALS (COLISEUM AND
EXPOSITION HALL), BE, AND THE SAME IS HEREBY, AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS
TO PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING RATES:
"SECTION 12 -33. BASIC RATE TABLE OF RENTALS.
A. CLASS 1, COMMERCIAL:
EXPOSITION HALL PATIO COLISEUM
EVENING $ 110.00 $140.00 $285.00
DAYTIME 90.00 -- 220.00
MOVE -IN- -MOVE -OUT 100.00 -- 255.00
ALL DAY 220.00 80.00 525.00
OVERTIME AND REHEARSALS 25.00 8.00 45.00
THE ABOVE RATES SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE THE MINIMUM RATES, AND IN
THE EVENT THAT 10,% OF.THE GROSS RECEIPTS OF ALL ADMISSIONS, AFTER ADMISSION
TAXES, SHALL EXCEED THE MINIMUM CHARGE, THEN SAID 10,% SHALL BE DEEMED THE
RENTAL.
B. CLASS 11, NON - COMMERCIAL -- PROFIT - MAKING:
EXPOSITION HALL PATIO COLISEUM

THE ABOVE RATES SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE THE MINIMUM RATES, AND IN
THE EVENT THAT 7% OF THE GROSS RECEIPTS OF ALL ADMISSIONS, AFTER ADMISSION

RENTAL CHARGE.
C. CLASS III, NON - COMMERCIAL -- NONPROFIT - MAKING:
SECTION 2. ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH SHALL BE AND ARE HEREBY REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF CONFLICT HEREWITH.
SECTION 3. PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE IN THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, ONE TIME, WHICH PUBLICATION SHALL CONTAIN
THE CAPTION STATING IN SUBSTANCE THE PURPOSE OF THE ORDINANCE.
SECTION 14. THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE
AIM EFFECT FROM AND AFTER NOVEMBER 20, 1971. THOSE EVENTS BOOKED AFTER
PASSAGE OF THIS ORDINANCE BUT SCHEDULED IN THE COLISEUM AND /OR EXPOSITION
HALL AFTER NOVEMBER 20, 1971, THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE, SHALL
BE CHARGED THE RATES ADOPTED BY THIS ORDINANCE.
SECTION 5. THE NECESSITY TO ADOPT THE PROVISIONS HEREINABOVE
PROVIDED, CONCERNING BASIC RATES FOR RENTALS AT THE COLISEUM, PATIO AND
EXPOSITION HALL CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY
REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION
SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION BUT THAT SUCH ORDI-
NANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY
EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT
THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE
EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER NOVEMBER 20, 1971,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE1W DAY OF , 1971.
