AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS
AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 21 -155 BY ADDING
THERETO AN ITEM SO AS TO PROHIBIT PARKING AT ALL TIMES
ON THE EAST SIDE OF OCEAN DRIVE, BETWEEN ABERDEEN
AVENUE AND OCEAN VIEW PLACE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. THAT THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED,
BE, AND THE SAME IS HEREBY, AMENDED BY ADDING THERETO THE FOLLOWING ITEM
UNDER SECTION 21 -155, SCHEDULE III -- PARKING PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES ON
CERTAIN STREETS, WHICH ITEM SHALL HEREAFTER READ AS FOLLOWS:
"OCEAN DRIVE, EAST SIDE, FROM THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE
OF LOT 1 TO THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF LOT 5 IN
THE CLARK —PEASE BAYFRONT LOTS SUBDIVISION, LOCATED
BETWEEN ABERDEEN AVENUE AND OCEAN VIEW PLACE."
SECTION 2. PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE ONE TIME IN THE OFFICIAL
PUBLICATION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, BY PUBLISHING THE CAPTION OF THIS
ORDINANCE, STATING IN SUBSTANCE THE PURPOSE OF THE ORDINANCE.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY FOR IMMEDIATE ADOPTION OF THE PRECEDING
PROVISIONS IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN AT ALL TIMES A COMPREHENSIVE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE
FOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE
PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDI-
NANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION
BUT THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEET-
INGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND
NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER
RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUC-
TION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS
PASSAGE AND PUBLICATION, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE1 i
DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1971.

ORDINANCES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
