HomeMy WebLinkAbout10533 RES - 10/20/1971JKN:1V -GV -Ii A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 10,517, ESTABLISHING THE OSO ECOLOGY ADVISORY CC0AI TTEE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT RESOLUTION NO. 10,517, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON OCTOBER 13, 1971, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED IN SECTION 2 THEREOF, IN THE FIRST SENTENCE, TO READ AS FOLLOWS: "SECTION 2. OFFICERS OF THE COMMITTEE SHALL BE A CHAIRMAN,' A VICE CHAIRMAN, BOTH DESIGNATED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AT THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT, AND SECRETARY, TO BE ELECTED BY THE COMMITTEE.11 SECTION 2. EXCEPT AS AMENDED HEREBY, RESOLUTION NO. 10,517 SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT. SECTION 3. THE PUBLIC IMPORTANCE AND NECESSITY TO AMEND THE Y� RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE CORPUS CHRISTI OSO ECOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE it 1 AS HEREINABOVE SET FORTH IN ORDER THAT THE SAID COMMITTEE MAY COMMENCE O THEIR STUDY OF THE RELATIONSHIP OF GOVERNMENTAL AND PRIVATE OPERATIONS TO THE CONDITION OF THE CITY'S ENVIRONMENT AND TO POINT OUT TO THE CITY COUNCIL PROBLEMS IN SUCH RELATIONSHIP AND ADVISE ON THEIR CORRECTION CREATES , A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPEN- SION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION BUT THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLU- TION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING'REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS RESOLUTION BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED, THIS THE DAY of OCTOBER, 1971.
