HomeMy WebLinkAbout10537 ORD - 10/27/1971VMP:10/26/71 AN ORDINANCE TEXAS: AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROPOSAL OF TRINITY TESTING LABORATORIES TO PRbvIDE LABORATORY TESTING SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS, HILLCREST AREA, NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, PROJECT NO. 22o -67 -92.4, FOR NOT TO EXCEED $16,500, TO BE PAID FROM CONTINGENCY FUNDS PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE NO. 10429; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED TO EXECUTE AN ACCEPTANCE - LETTER CONTRACT WITH TRINITY TESTING LABORATORIES FOR SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS, HILLCREST AREA, NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, PROJECT N0. 220 -67 -92.4, PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE NO. 10429, A COPY OF SAID ACCEPTANCE - LETTER CONTRACT BEING ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF. SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO EXECUTE THE AFORESAID ACCEPTANCE- LETTER CONTRACT FOR LABORATORY TESTING SERVICES IN ORDER THAT THE HILLCREST AREA STREET IMPROVEMENTS MAY BE COMMENCED AT THE EARLIEST PRACTICABLE DATE CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE<� /ttt DAY OF lY "r`i ti , 1971. Total charges for testing will not exceed lump sum. In the even a lesser number of unit tests are performed, we will reduce our total charges for testing at our regular unit price per test. Payment of this contract may be made in twelve (12) monthly installments of $1,375.00 per month beginning thirty (30) days after notification to proceed. Attached to this proposal is a resume of our Professional backup, listing our local testing technicians and professional people that will be available to consult with you and your staff.
