AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH B. E. BEECROFT COMPANY, INC. FOR HURRICANE CELIA
DAMAGE REPAIRS AND VARIOUS IMPROVEMENTS TO EXPOSITION
HALL, PROJECT NO. 102 - 4298 -77; APPROPRIATING OUT OF
NO. 102 GENERAL FUND UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF $53j667,
AND REAPPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 102 GENERAL FUND $24,625
AND OUT OF NO. 103 TOURIST AND CONVENTION FUND $11,000,
FOR SAID CONTRACT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED
AND DIRECTED TO EXECUTE, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
A CONTRACT WITH B. E. BEECROFT COMPANY, INC. FOR HURRICANE CELIA DAMAGE
REPAIRS AND VARIOUS IMPROVEMENTS TO EXPOSITION HALL, PROJECT NO. 102 - 4298 -77,
ALL AS MORE FULLY SET OUT IN THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND CONTRACT DOCU-
MENTS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY SECRETARY, ALL OF WHICH ARE MADE A
PART HEREOF BY REFERENCE, AND ACCORDING TO THE BID OF B. E. BEECROFT COMPANY,
INC., BEING THE LOWEST AND MOST ADVANTAGEOUS TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SAID BID HAVING BEEN OPENED ON NOVEMBER 10, 1971.
SECTION 2. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF NO. 102 GENERAL
FUND THE UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF $53,667 AND REAPPROPRIATED OUT OF No. 102
GENERAL FUND $24,625 AND OUT OF No. 103 TOURIST AND CONVENTION FUND $11,000
FOR SAID CONTRACT, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 102- 4298 -77•
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO AUTHORIZE EXECUTION OF THE HEREINABOVE
DESCRIBED CONTRACT AND TO APPROPRIATE THE NECESSARY FUNDS IN ORDER THAT THE
CONTRACT MAY PROCEED WITHOUT DELAY CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE
PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDI-
NANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION
AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS
OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY
TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT
THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF'ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE

EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE
DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1971.

SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT 15 INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 1, THEREFORE,
