A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
recognizes the need for upgrading law enforcement communication so as to
be compatible with other upgraded law enforcement communications within
i
the Coastal Bend region of the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, thnCity of Corpus Christi has expressed an interest in
participating in the initiation of a regional law enforcement communications
project in the Coastal Bend region through budgeting 25 percent of the cost
of the law enforcement communications equipment to be purchased for Corpus
Christi; and
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi understands that should it
disagree with the plan or the vendor selection of the Coastal Bend Council
of Governments, or is any way dissatisfied with the final bid specifications,
the City is in no way bound to accept the plan or vendor selected:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, with the above understanding the
City Council authorizes the Coastal Bend Council of Governments to act as
its purchasing agent for the purchase of law enforcement communications
equipment as a part of a regional law enforcement communications project
to be implemented in the Coastal Bend region, subject to the conditions
hereof.

ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE.IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ A•T THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
