AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION
OF PARCELS NOS. 1, 3, 4, 5 AND 6 FOR
GREENWOOD DRIVE STREET IMPROVEMENTS, HORNE
ROAD TO PADRE ISLAND DRIVE; APPROPRIATING
OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND
$10,027.99, OF WHICH $9,027.99 IS FOR LAND
PURCHASES AT APPROVED VALUES AND $1,000 IS
FOR CONTINGENCY COST INCLUDING APPRAISALS
AND INCIDENTAL COST RELATED TO THE CLOSING
OF SAID PURCHASES, ALL APPLICABLE TO PROJECT
NO. 220 -70 -113; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized,
for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, to execute doc�un- `entsneces-
sary for the acquisition of Parcels Nos. 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 for Greenwood Drive
Street Improvements, Horne Road to Padre Island Drive.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated $10,027.99 out of the No.
220 Street Bond Fund, of which amount $9,027.99 is for land purchases at
approved values and $1,000 is for contingency cost including appraisals and
incidental cost related to the closing of said purchases, all applicable to
Project No. 220 -70 -113.
SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize the execution of the neces-
sary documents and to authorize the payment of funds for the acquisition of
the aforesaid parcels of land as soon as possible creates a public emergency
and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its
introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such
emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the
Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its
introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAJ;�this the %WUday of March, 1972.

RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
