HomeMy WebLinkAbout10741 ORD - 03/15/1972'y v AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, ADOPTED ON THE 27Th DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ, OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME, AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING ARTICLE 22. PARKING REGULATIONS, BY AMENDING THE TABLE UNDER SECTION 22 -1 BY DELETING LINES 19 AND 28, COLUMNS 1 THROUGIi 4, AND DELETING FROM LINE 17 THE 14ORD "MULTIPLE" IN COLUMN 1; AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE BY AMENDING ART. 27. SUPPLEMENTARY HEIGHT, AREA, AND BULK REQUIREMENTS, SECTION 27 -3, MODIFICATION OF AREA REGULATIONS, SUBSECTION 27- 3.01.07, BY DELETING THE WORDING "A DWELLING USE OR" FOLLOWING THE WORDS "ADJACENT TO" IN THE SECOND LINE, AND IN THE SEVENTH ., AND. EIGHTH .LINES:FOLLOWING.THE.WORDS !,ADJACENT-TO",, DELETE THE WORDING "THE DWELLING USE OR "; KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE- WITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. ' WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning certain amendments to the text of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi; and *14HEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City of Corpus Christi City Council, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on March 1, 1972, at Regular Council Meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed and approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of record in Volume 9, pages 565,-et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution Records, as amended from time to.time, and in particular as amended by Ordinance No. 6106, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by making the change hereinafter set out. �G'741. i SECTION 2. That Article 22, PARKING REGULATIONS, as amended, be amended by amending the Table under Section 22 -1 as follows: Delete Lines 19 and 28, Columns 1 through 4; and Delete from Line 17 the word "Multiple" in Column 1. SECTION 3. That Article 27, SUPPLEMENTARY HEIGHT, AREA, AND BULK REQUIREMENTS, Section 27 -3, Modification of Area Regulations, as amended, be amended by deleting from Subsection 27- 3.01.07 the following: Delete the wbrding "a dwelling use or" following the words "adjacent to" in the second line, and in the seventh and eighth lines following the words "adjacent to ", delete the wording "the dwelling use or." SECTION 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flictlerewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 5. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, which publication shall con- tain the caption stating in substance the purpse of the ordinance. SECTION 6. That the necessity of immediately making the afore- said change for the purpose of maintaining at all times a comprehensive zoning ordinance for the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of such Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introductionand take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the [.7Yll/ day of Marc 972.
