WHEREAS, there are electricians in the Corpus Christi area who
desire to work in more than one city, and such electricians are required to
obtain electrician licenses in each city in which they work; and
WHEREAS, to obtain such licenses such electricians are required
to take a different examination in each city and pay an examination and /or
license fee in each city; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed that an electrician who demonstrates
his qualifications and pays a license fee should not be further restricted
from work merely because of municipal boundaries:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
That the City Council intends to cooperate with other area cities
in exploring the problems relative to and seeking mutually agreeable methods
for the examining and licensing of electricians, and
That the City Council hereby appoints Mr. Tom Robinson and Mr.
D. C. Ware to meet with other area representatives to recommend the organi-
zation and procedures to be followed and that Mr. B. Sack McDaniel and
Mr. Bill Hennings be instructed to furnish all requisite staff assistance
to effectuate the purposes of this Resolution, subject to approval by the
Council.

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING
ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EX15T FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
