NETEK FOR THE SIDEWALK UNIT VI PROJECT; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE 220 STREET BOND FUND $47,000 OF WHICH AMOUNT $43,434 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $3,566 IS FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO ENGIN- EERING, CONTINGENCIES, AND OTHER INCIDENTAL COSTS APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220 -70 -114; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is authorized to execute a contract, on behalf of the City, with E. J. Netek for the Sidewalk Unit VI Project, Project No. 220 -70 -114, all as is more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the Office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of E. J. Netek opened on February 9, 1972, the said bid of E. J. Netek being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated $47,000 out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund, of which $43,434 is for the construction contract and $3,566 is for expenses related to engineering, contingencies, and other incidental costs. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the necessary sums at the earliest possible date, so that construction may commence, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordi- nance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and neces- sity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAI this e d of _/ /_[_, 1972.
