HomeMy WebLinkAbout10807 RES - 04/19/1972A Ap A RESOLUTION L EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO MAKE APPLICATION UNDER THE NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH ACT OF 1968 AS AMENDED BY PUBLIC LAW 90 -302 AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Public Law 90 -302 provides assistance by the Federal Government to local public bodies to enable them to provide a special ' Food Service Program for children; and WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi desires to apply for such assistance: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute and to file such application with the Department of Agriculture to provide information and to furnish such documents as may be required by said Department, and to act as the authorized correspondent of the Applicant. SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize the City Manager to properly make application for Federal funds for the above purposes, _ creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect f'�'room1� and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED, this t ?Yb day of April, 1972.
