HomeMy WebLinkAbout10820 RES - 04/19/1972JRR:HG:jkh:4- 19 -72; lst A RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi is desirous of providing for the construction of a boat ramp at Oso Bridge on Cayo del Oso at Ocean Drive; and WHEREAS, the State of Texas, acting through the Texas Parks and' Wildlife Department, would provide for such construction; and WHEREAS, the construction of such facility would be of benefit to both the citizens of the City of Corpus christi as well as to transient boaters from the State of Texas and other states: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter into a service agreement with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and to execute all documents necessary and proper to provide for the construction of a boat ramp at the Oso Bridge, on Cayo del Oso at Ocean Drive, said construction to be on a reimbursement- for -cost basis; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Corpus Christi will upon completion of said boat ramp furnish the necessary Use Jurisdiction Agreement or other related land documents deemed necessary to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Corpus Christi will perform the necessary housekeeping and minor maintenance at said facility, minor maintenance being defined as necessary repair not necessitating special tools, skilled labor, or large purchase of material. SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately enter into the aforesaid agreement with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and do such others things necessary in order that the aforesaid boat ramp may be commenced without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordi- nance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that 10820 this Resolution be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED, this the � 71�E(.l day of April, 1972.
