AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE SUM
OF $8,944.90 FOR ADDITIONAL JUDGMENT AWARD AND COSTS
INCURRED IN CONNECTION WITH CONDEMNATION CAUSE NO. 532,
STATE OF TEXAS, ET AL VS. PERRY J. DALTON, ET AL; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 220 Street
Bond Fund the sum of $8,944.90 for additional judgment award, for appraiser's
costs, court reporter, expert witness testimony, and attorney ad litem, all
in connection with Condemnation Cause No. 532, State of Texas, et al vs. Perry
J. Dalton, et al, Crosstown Expressway, Phase III.
SECTION 2. The necessity to appropriate the sums hereinabove in
order that title may properly pass to the City of Corpus Christi and that
the aforesaid project may be completed at the earliest practicable date
creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring
the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council,
and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist,
and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this
ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take
effect and be in full force and effect from and after ,its passage, IT IS
ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this theoCb aAk- L . 1972.
