AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE ASSIGNMENT OF THE REVOCABLE
EASEMENT GRANTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 10350,
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON
JULY 14, 1971, FROM GETTY OIL COMPANY TO
McMoRan EXPLORATION COMPANY, IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE ATTACHED ASSIGNMENT WHICH IS INCORPORATED
HEREIN BY REFERENCE: AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE SAID ASSIGNMENT; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the revocable easement heretofore
granted to Getty Oil Company by Ordinance No. 10350, passed and
approved on July 14, 1971, be assigned to McMORan Exploration
Company, in accordance with the attached Assignment which is
incorporated herein by reference the same as if written herein,
and the City Manager is authorized and directed to execute said
assignment.
SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize the assignment
of said revocable easement at the earliest possible date creates
a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring
the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency
and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of
the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after its passa e, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED,

ASSIGNMENT OF REVOCABLE EASEMENT

COUNTY OF NUECES X
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of July, 1971, the City of
Corpus Christi, acting by and through its duly authorized City

Manager, R. Marvin Townsend, granted, sold and conveyed a
revocable easement to Getty Oil Company, pursuant to Ordinance
No. 10350; and
WHEREAS, it is the mutual desire of the parties that
said easement be assigned to McMoRan Exploration Company:
NOW, THEREFORE, by these presents Getty oil Company
does hereby assign said revocable easement to McMoRan Exploration
Company.
The terms and conditions of the said Revocable Easement
shall remain in full force and effect except for this Assignment,
and all parties agree to be bound by the terms of said Revocable
Easement.

consideration therein expressed.

The above Assignment of Revocable Easement is hereby
accepted this the day of April, 1972, by McMoRan Exploration
Company, and said McMoRan Exploration Company agrees to keep and
perform the conditions imposed by the original grant and easement
and that it is bound by all of the terms of the same.
