AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 6331, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 THEREOF SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR PERMITS AND FEES FOR PERSONS SLAUGHTERING, MANUFACTURING, OR PROCESSING OF ANY MEAT OR POULTRY PRODUCT FOR SALE WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 6331, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 3 thereof, so as to hereafter read as follows: "Section 3. It shall be unlawful for any person to slaughter, manufacture or process any meat or poultry product within the city limits 'of the City of Corpus Christi until such person has applied for and been granted a Meat Inspection Permit by the Director of Public Health of the City of Corpus Christi and shall have paid a permit fee of Fifty Dollars s ($50.00) for each calendar year or part thereof. Said permit may be revoked by the Director of Public Health of the City of Corpus Christi for any violation of this ordinance." SECTION 2. If for any reason any-section, paragraph, subdivi- sion, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof shall be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing the caption of this ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance. r. SECTION 4. The necessity to i�ediately amend Ordinance No. 6331 as hereinabove set forth to provide for more equitable permit fees creates 10.959 a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the sus- pension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this_XAyd-3:2S, day of July, 1972.
