JRR:jkh:7- 25 -72; 1st I AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A THREE -PART CONTRACT WITH ENVIRONMENTAL INSTALLATIONS, INC., FOR CANDLEWOOD PARK IMPROVEMENTS, CONSISTING OF GENERAL, IRRIGATION AND LANDSCAPING WORK, FOR $33,957.16; APPROPRIATING $39,000, OF WHICH $2,646 IS OUT OF NO. 111 TRUST FUND, APPLICABLE TO CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, ACCOUNT NO. 1792, AND $36,354 IS OUT OF NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND, PROJECT NO. 291 -70 -10.3, OF WHICH $31,311.16 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $5,042.84 IS FOR CONTINGENCIES AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, • TEXAS: a' SECTION 1. The City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to execute a three -part contract with Environmental Installations, Inc., for general, irrigation and landscaping work in connection with Candlewood Park Improvements, for $33,957.16, all as more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a pact hereof by reference and according to the bid of Environmental Installations, Inc., opened on the 19th day of July, 1972, the said bid of Environmental Installations, Inc., being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated the sum of $39,000, of which amount $2,646 is out of the No. 111 Trust Fund, applicable to construe- tion contract, Account No. 1792, and $36,354 is out of the No. 291 Park Bond Fund, Project No. 291 -70 -10.3, of which amount $31,311.16 is for the "• construction contract and $5,042.84 is for contingencies and incidental expenses. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the sums hereinabove set out at the earliest practicable date in order that construction may commence, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of 1:1© ®3 the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the c� �,�a �fla�of July, 1972.
