HomeMy WebLinkAbout11011 ORD - 08/02/1972JRR:vmp • 8/1/72: 1st - AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH BOZARTH SERVICE FOR THE DEMOLITION OF THREE HOUSES IN HILLCREST PARR; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 291 PARR BOND FUND $3,395, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 291 -70 -10.1; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute an agreement with Bozarth Service for the demolition of three houses in Hillcrest Park, all as is more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Bozarth Service, opened on March 25, 1972, the said bid of Bozarth Service being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated the sum of $3,395 out of the No. 291 Park Bond Fund, applicable to Project No. 291 -70 -10.1, for the demolition of three houses in Hillcrest Park. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid agreement and to appropriate the sum hereinabove set forth at the earliest possible date in order that demolition may be commenced, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this day of August, 1972.
