HomeMy WebLinkAbout11050 ORD - 08/23/1972• JRR:jkh:8- 23 -72; let . y AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH TURNER LANDSCAPE, INC., FOR MUSEUM AREA LANDSCAPING IMPROVEMENTS - LANDSCAPING CONTRACT; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 102 GENERAL FUND, ACTIVITY 4181, CODE 502, $5,628.79 FOR SAID CONTRACT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute a contract with Turner Landscape, Inc., for Museum Area Landscaping Improvements - Landscaping Contract, all as is more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid cE Turner Landscape, Inc., opened on the 9th day of August, 1972, the said bid of Turner Landscape, Inc. being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 102 General Fund, Activity 4181, Code 502, the sum of $5,628.79 for the aforesaid landscaping contract. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the sums hereinabove set out at the earliest possible date so that construction may commence creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspen- sion of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the ,;2-,3d-- day of August, 1972.
