ISRAELI OLYMPIC ATHLETES; EXPRESSING SYMPATHY AND CONDOLENCES TO THEIR FAMILIES AND NATION; MEMORIALIZING THE VICTIMS; DIRECTING THE CITY SECRETARY TO FORWARD A'. CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE ISRAEL EMBASSY. WHEREAS, the entire civilized world is horrified and shocked at the brutal murder of eleven Israeli Olympic athletes at the Olympic Village in Munich; and WHEREAS, such act is an outrage by any standard of humanity; and WHEREAS, the citizens and City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, hereby condemn such act and by this resolution memorializes the victims; and WHEREAS, the City feels a heartfelt need to express its sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the nation of Israel: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi,' Texas, hereby expresses its condemnation of the brutal murder of the eleven members of the Israeli Olympic team. SECTION 2. That the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, hereby expresses its deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and to the nation of Israel. - SECTION 3. That the victims of this insane act be memorialized in the memory of all humanity and their names by this record'forever will be remembered by the citizens of this City: Moshe Weinberg, 33 Yosef Romano, 33 David Berger, 44 Mark Slavin, 18 Yosef Gottfreund, 41 Eliezer Halfin, 28 Zeev Friedman, 28 Yacov Springer, 51 Andrei Spitzer, 45 Relhat Shur, 53 Amitzur Shapiro, 32. in®!® SECTION 4. That the City Secretary forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Israel Embassy in Washington, D.C., as a token and record of our concern and sympathy.
