AN ORDINANCE
DIRECTING THE CITY SECRETARY TO PUBLISH THE
ATTACHED FORM OF NOTICE FOR A HEARING TO CONSIDER
ANNEXATION OF PROPERTIES DESCRIBED IN SAID FORM
NOTICE AT A PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD IN THE CITY
COUNCIL CHAMBER ON NOVEMBER 8, 1972, AT 4:30 P.M.;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the City Secretary be, and he is hereby, directed
to publish the attached form of notice for a hearing to consider annexation
of properties described in said form notice at a public hearing to be held
in the City Council Chambers on November 8, 1972, at 4:30 P.M. .
SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately publish the aforesaid
notice of public hearing in order to give notice to the public concerning
annexation of certain properties described creates a public emergency and
an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of
its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having
declared such emergency and necessity to exist; and having requested the
suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this
the 25th day of October, 1972.

OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON ANNEXATION
TO BE HELD BY CORPUS CHRISTI CITY COUNCIL
at a Special Meeting to be held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall
at 302 South Shoreline Drive, Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, at 4:30
P .M., on November 8, 1972, a public hearing will be held to provide
an opportunity for all interested persons to be heard concerning the inten-
tion of the City Council to institute annexation proceedings pursuant to
Art. 970a, V.A.C.S., Texas, as amended, and City Charter, Article I,
Sec. 2(a), providing for annexation by election, to annex to the City of
Corpus Christi the following described area:
CABANISS FIELD AM
Being a 642 acre tract of land out of portions of Sections 11, 12, 13 and 14,
Bohemian Coloney Lands as shown by map of record in Volume A, page 48, Map Records,
Nueces County, Texas, said 642 acres of land being more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows.
Beginning at a point in the present City Limits of the City of Corpus Christi,
said point being at the intersection of the south right of way line of 120 foot
wide Saratoga Blvd., and the northwest boundary line of Lot 1, Section 12, said
Bohemian Colony Lands;
Thence S. 29° W., with the northwest boundary of said'Lots 1 and 2, and
with the present City Limits of the City of Corpus Christi a distance of
1,755 feet to the most westerly corner of that tract of land annexed by
Ordinance Nos.10992 and 10993;
Thence S. 61° 30' 45" E., with aline that is 495.0 feet southwest of
and parallel to the northeast boundary line of said Lot 2, and with the
present City Limits of the City of Corpus Christi, a distance of 2,592.5
feet to a point in the northwest right of way line of 100 -foot wide Weber Road;

Texas;
Thence due north, with the west boundary line of said San Juan
addition and continuing with the west boundary line of San Juan

a point in the South right of way line of County Road No. 36;

Being a 73.8 acre tract of land out of the Thomas Gallagher Survey Abstract No.
988, and out of Survey 4011 Beaty, Seale and Forwood Survey, abstract No. 569,
in Nueces County, Texas, said 73.8 acre tract of land being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as folbws;
Beginning at a point in the south right of way line of the proposed State Highway
No. 44, at its intersection with the present city limits of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas;
Thence with the south rightof way line of said proposed State Highway No. 44,
S. 89012' W., 970.0 feet more or less; N. 84005'25° W., 395.48 feet; N.78014147"

by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a point in the present city limits of the City of Corpus Christi,
said point being at the intersection of the North right -of -way line of F. M. Road
624, and the West right -of -way line of U. S. Highway No.77;
Thence N. 840 18' W., with the North right -of -way line of said F. M. Road
624, a distance of 2900 feet more or less to its intersection with the West
boundary line of a 225.2 acre tract of land now or formerly in the name of Farrell
J. Smith;
Thence N. 90 15' E., with the West boundary line of said 225.2 acre tract and
its Northerly extension; a distance of 3155 feet more or less, to its intersection
with the present city limits of the City of Corpus Christi at the 'right bank (looking

Being 1,545 acres of land more or less out of State Surveys 304, 418, 419, 420,
422, and 73, Nueces County, Texas, said tract of land being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows.
Beginning at a point in the present City Limits of the City of Corpus Christi,
said point being at the intersection of the East boundary line of Nueces View
Tracts as shown by map of record in Volume 28, page 64, Nap Records, Nueces
County, Texas, and the right bank (looking downstream) of state owned land in
the Nueces River for the beginning corner of the tract herein described;
Thence S.0051'E., with the east boundary line of said Nueces View Tracts and
with the present City Limits of the City of Corpus Christi, a distance of
3,879.47 feet to a point in the north right -of -way line of 60 foot wide
McKenzie Lane;
Thence N.80009130 "W., with the north right of way line of-said McKenzie Lane
and with the present City Limits of the City of Corpus Christi, a distance
of 1,478.32 feet to the southwest corner of said Nueces View Tracts;

south city limit.line of the City of Aransas Pass and continuing in a northeasterly
direction with the present south City Limit line of the City of Aransas Pass and
its northeasterly extension to its intersection with the northeast.boundary line
of State Tract No. 344;

Island Investment Company's West Lease and with the southwest boundary line of the
Padre Island Investment Company Tract and its extension to its intersection with
the Nueces- Kleberg County Line on the Fast Shore of Laguna Madre;

Laguna Madre to the most southerly corner of State Tract No. 178;
Thence in a northwesterly direction across Laguna Madre and in a straight line
to the point of intersection of the Nueces- Kleberg County Line and the western shore
of Laguna Madre;
Thence in a northeasterly direction with the meanders of the western shore of
Laguna Madre and continuing with the present city limits of the City of Corpus Cbristi
to the point of beginning.
