HomeMy WebLinkAbout11144 ORD - 11/01/1972JRR:ml:10- 30- 72;lst - AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCELS NOS. 11, 12, 13, 14; 15, 16, 17, 18, 20 & 21 FOR THE HORNE ROAD STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, FROM NAPLES TO COLUMBIA; APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND $9,455, OF WHICH $6,945 IS FOR ACQUISITION COST AND $2,500 IS FOR INCIDENTAL AND CONTINGENCY COSTS, ALL APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220 -70 -111; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. n BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute real estate sales contracts and such other instruments or Documents as may be necessary in order to acquire Parcels Nos. 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20 & 21 for the Horne Road Street Improvements Project, from Naples to Columbia, Project No. 220 -70 -111. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of No. 220 Street Bond Fund the sum of $9,455, of which $6,945 is for acquisition costs and $2,500 is for incidental and contigency costs. SECTION 3. The necessity to appropriate the sums hereinabove described and to acquire the aforesaid parcels creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of November, 1972.
