HomeMy WebLinkAbout11166 ORD - 11/08/1972• JRR:jkh:11-7 -72; let AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE SUM OF $36,500 IN SETTLEMENT OF CONDEMNATION PROCEED- INGS IN CONNECTION WITH ACQUISITION OF PARCELS 480 AND 483, CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY, TARLTON TO PADRE ISLAND DRIVE, PROJECT NO. 220 -56 -24.3; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund the sun of $36,000, of which $35,000 is for settlement of condemnation proceedings in connection with acquisition of Parcel No. 480, from Virginia Blacknall Grady, and the sum of $1,500 is for settlement of condemnation proceedings in connection with acquisition of Parcel No. 483, from Sallie Blacknall, et al, all in connection with the Crosstown Expressway, Tarlton to Padre Island Drive, Project No. 220 -56 -24.3. SECTION 2. The necessity to appropriate the hereinabove described sumo in order to settle matters in controversy concerning acquisition of the aforesaid two parcels for the Crosstown Expressway Project creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS NGLY SO ORDAINED, this the -11' day of November, 1972.
