HomeMy WebLinkAbout11175 ORD - 11/22/1972• JRR:ml:11-20 -72 ;1st • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH CLEMENTS ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR AIR CONDITIONING FOR THE POLICE BUILDING COMMUNICATIONS CENTER; REAPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 102 GENERAL FUND, ACTIVITY 3327, CODE 502, THE SUM OF $54,725 FOR THE CON- STRUCTION CONTRACT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Clements Electric Company for air conditioning for the Police Building Communications Center; all as is more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the Office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Clements Electric Company, opened on the 15th day of November, 1972, the said bid of Clements Electric Company being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. There is hereby reappropriated out of the No. 102 General Fund, Activity 3327, Code 502, the sum of $54,725 for the above described construction contract. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the sums hereinabove set out at the earliest possible date so that construction may commence, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORD- INGLY SO ORDAINED, this the fr da N vember, 1971.
