VISUAL APPROACH SLOPE INDICATOR (VAST) SERVING RUNWAY 17, EA. 1.; 2. RUNWAY END IDENTIFIER LIGHTS (REILS) SERVING RUNWAY 17 -35, EA. 2.; 3. INCLUDING ALL POWER CABLE SERVING EACH UNIT NAMED IN ITEMS 1 AND 2, HEREINABOVE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO EXECUTE A QUITCLAIM DEED CONVEYING TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY LOCATED AT CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:' 1. VISUAL APPROACH SLOPE INDICATOR (VASI) SERVING RUNWAY 17, EA. 1.; 2. RUNWAY END IDENTIFIER LIGHTS (REILS) SERVING RUNWAY 17 -35, EA. 2.; 3. INCLUDING ALL POWER CABLE SERVING EACH PROPERTY UNIT NAMED HEREINABOVE; IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS SET FORTH IN SAID QUITCLAIM DEED, A COPY OF WHICH, MARKED EXHIBIT "A °, IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF FOR ALL PERTINENT PURPOSES. SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO IMMEDIATELY AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF A QUITCLAIM DEED IN ORDER TO FACILITATE THE CONVEYANCE OF THIS PROPERTY AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE DATE CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECES- SITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION BUT THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE 111185 JRR /Nc 11/28/72 1sT • AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE 2 DAY OF NOVEMBER, 197.2. Marvin Townsend, and within its corporate powers, as a home rule city, body politic and municipal corporation of the State of Texas, hereinafter referred to as GRANTOR, and the United States of America, hereinafter referred to as GRANTEE: W I T N E S S E T H That Grantor, for and in consideration of the assumption by Grantee of all obligations and its covenant to abide by and in agree- ment to certain conditions, all as set forth hereinafter, does hereby remise, release,.and forever quitclaim unto Grantee, its transferees, successors, and assigns, under the-conditions set forth hereinafter, all the Grantor's right, title, and interests in and to all that certain property located on the Corpus Christi International Airport, Corpus Christi, Texas, more particularly described as: 1. Visual Approach Slope Indicator (VASI) serving Runway 17, ea. l.; 2. Runway End Identifier Lights (REILS)serving Runway 17 -35, ea. 2.; 3. Including all power cable serving each property unit named hereinabove. EXCEPTING, HOWEVER, from this conveyance all right, title and interest of Grantor in any real properties of the Grantor in, under and around the aforesaid property hereunder transferred to Grantee, and located on and within Grantor's Corpus Christi International Airport boundaries. All of the property described-hereinabove and transferred here- under having been duly determined to be excess to the needs and requirements of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and who desires to quitclaim said property to the United States of America, for use by its Agency, the Federal Aviation Administration for the benefit of and at the Corpus Christi International Airport, Corpus Christi, Texas. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, said property, with all its appurtenances unto the Grantee, its assigns and transferrees, forever. r 1 �J • By the acceptance of this deed, or any rights hereunder, said Grantee agrees to operate and maintain the aforesaid property for the benefit of Corpus Christi International Airport, Corpus Christi, Texas.
