BLACK FOR THE CONSTRUC- TION OF CURBS ALONG NORTH AND SOUTH SHORE- LINE BLVD; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE 220 STREET BOND FUND $10,000, OF WHICH $8,890 IS FOR THE CONTRACT AND $1,110 IS FOR CONTINGENCIES, TEST- ING AND LABORATORY WORK IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROJECT; ALL APPLICABLE TO PROJECT 220 -70 -135; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute a contract with R. S. Black for the construction of curbs along North and South Shoreline Blvd. all as is more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the Office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of R.,S. Black, opened on the 12tn day of December, 1972,•the said bid of R. S. Black being tie lowest anc most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi; SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated the sum 3f $10,000 out of No. 220 Street Bond Fund, of which $8,890 is for the contract and $1,110 is for contingencies, testing and laboratory work in connection with the project, all applicable to Project No. 220 -70 -135. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the sums hereinabove set out at the earliest possible date so that construction may commence, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or reso- lution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the,9V-Z4 day of December, 1972.
