HomeMy WebLinkAbout11222 ORD - 12/27/1972a � JRR :m1 :12- •26- 72;1st • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT WITH MAY DOUGHERTY CARR KING, FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL NO. 34, BAYFRONT OPEN SPACE, PROJECT NO. 291 -70 -8; APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND, THE SUM OF $17,544, OF WHICH $17,344 IS FOR THE ACQUISITION COST AND SEVERANCE DAMAGES, AND $200 IS FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES RELATED TO THE CLOSING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute a real estate sales contract with May Dougherty Carr King, for the acquisition of Parcel No. 34, Bayfront Open Space, Project No. 291 -70 -8, said parcel being described as follows: The most northerly or northwest 100 feet of Lot No. One (1) Block No. Four (4), Cole Place, an addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as show.; by map thereof recorded in Volume 11, Paige 57, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, with the most southerly or southeast boundary of the tract covered by this contract being para_lel to the most northerly or northwest boundary of said Lot One (1), Block Four (4), Cole Place and 100 feet south or south- east as measured on the boundary of said Lot One (1) bordering on Ocean Drive. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of No. 291 Park Bond Fund the sum of $17,544, of which $17,344 is for the acquisition cost and severance damages, and $200 is for incidental expenses related to the closing costs. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize the execution of the necessary documents and to authorize the payment of funds for the acquisition of the aforesaid parcel of land in order to proceed with the development of the Bayfront Open Space Project, creates a public emergency an imperative public necessity requir- ing the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or reso- lution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having J1222 declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 4_2-&E-day of December, 1972.
