HomeMy WebLinkAbout11223 ORD - 12/27/1972JRR.vm • 12/27 /7 2:2a AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROPOSAL OF TRINITY ENGINEERING TESTING CORPORATION TO PERFORM TESTING OF THE EXISTING ASPHALT AT CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, A COPY OF SAID PROPOSAL BEING ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A "; APPROPRIAT- ING OUT OF THE NO. 245 AIRPORT BOND FUND $4,400, $3,386.50 FOR THE TESTING SERVICES AND $1,013.50 FOR CONSULTING SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY BOB GALLOWAY OF BRYAN, TEXAS; APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 245 -68 -11.1; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to accept the proposal of Trinity Engineering Testing Corporation to perform testing of the existing asphalt at Corpus Christi International Airport, Project No. 245 -68 -11.1. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of No. 245 Airport Bond Fund the sum of $4,400, $3,386.50 for testing of the existing asphalt at Corpus Christi International Airport and $1,013.50 for consulting services to be performed by Bob Galloway of Bryan, Texas. SECTION 3. The necessity to make the appropriation as hereinabove set forth in order that the project may proceed without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested that such Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of December, 1972.
