HomeMy WebLinkAbout11241 ORD - 01/03/1973JRR:ml:1- 2•- 73;1st _ • AN ORDINANCE REAPPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 102 GENERAL FUND,4299 RESERVE APPROPRIATION ACCOUNT, THE SUM OF $17,500 FOR PAYMENT OF CONTRAC- TUAL SERVICES OF DR. JOHN K. LANGUM, ECONOMIC CONSULTANT, EMPLOYED AS A CONSULTANT TO SERVE THE CITY IN THE MATTER OF THE CENTRAL POWER & LIGHT COMPANY APPLICATION FOR RATE INCREASE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. There is hereby reappropriated out of No. 102 General Fund, Reserve Appropriation Account No. 4299, the sum of $17,500 for payment of contractual services of Dr. John K. Langum, Economic Consultant, employed as a consultant to serve the City in the matter of the Central Power & Light Company application for rate increase. SECTION 2. The necessity to provide the necessary sums in orc•.er to employed the aforesaid consultant, creates a a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the ✓ d_ day of January, 1973.
