AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING
FOUR STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS TO THE TEXAS HIGHWAY
DEPARTMENT IN THE FORM OF AN APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL
AID UNDER THE "FEDERAL AID URBAN SYSTEMS PROGRAM ":
1. Airline Road, Padre Island Drive to Williams
Drive;
2. Kostoryz Road, Padre Island Drive to Holly Road;
3. Nueces Bay Boulevard, from Leopard to I.H. 37; and
4. Waldron Road, Carribean to Padre Island Drive;
DESIGNATING THE CITY 14ANAGER AS THE CITY'S AUTHORIZED
REPRESENTATIVE AND AUTHORIZING THE SAID CITY MANAGER TO
SIGN THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE FORMAL
APPLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to submit tba following four street improvement projects to the Texas
Highway Department in the form of an application for Federal Aid under
the "Federal Aid Urban Systems Program ":
1.. Airline Road, Padre Island Drive to Williams Drive;
2. Kostoryz Road, Padre Island Drive to Holly Road;
3. Nueces Bay Boulevard, from Leopard to I.H. 37; and
4. Waldron Road, Carribean to Padre Island Drive,
and designating the City Manager as the City's authorized representative
and authorizing the said City Manager to sign the necessary documents
related to the formal application.
SECTION 2. The necessity to submit the aforesaid street
improvement projects to the Texas Highway Department as aforesaid in
order to obtain aid in upgrading and modernizing the streets outlined
creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring
the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council,
and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and
having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance

be passed finally on the datecE its introduction and take effect and
be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
SO ORDAINED, this the /%Wday of January, 1973.

REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
