AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 10873, PASSED AND
APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 4TH
DAY OF MAY, 1972, BY AMENDING SECTION 3
OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS-TO CORRECT AND
ADJUST THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST
ABUTTING PROPERTY OW14ERS ON GOLLIHAR ROAD,
FROM CADDO STREET TO AIRLINE ROAD, AS HERE-
INAFTER PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN-EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED•BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 10873, passed and
approved by the City Council on the 4th day of May, 1972, be
and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 3 so as
correct and adjust the assessments levied against abutting
property owners on Gollihar Road, from Caddo Street to Airline
Road, as is reflected on the corrected 4nd adjusted assessment
roll, attached hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. The necessity to make the adjustments and
corrections outlined hereinabove in connection with the paving
assessment project creates a puolic emergency and imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and
the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist,
and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and this
ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and
take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this theF�_tf_day of

The strceL- is to be construetcd.by excavating to a width and depth to permit
the laying of sta.ndarcl 6" curb and gutter sccti011£, ruld the installation of
pavement consis Lin; as fonows:
6" lime stabilized base, 8" compacted caliche, prime coat, 3" of Type B
Asphaltic Concrete and 1" of Type D Asphaltic, Concrete for a normal ef-
fcctive width of 59' measured from back of curbs.
Also to be constructed on this project are reinforce(1 concrete sidewalks vary-
ing in 4ricith from 6' hide along schools to the normal 4' wide 4" thick, drive-
ways vllcrc need n
needed and requested by property Own and storm seerers to properly
drain the streets. In addition, stony sewer extensions in Brock and Bradshaw
are included to alleviate a drainage problem.
The assessment rates have been determined by taking the unit prices used in the
low bid submitted by Burtex Constructors and applying; these unit prices to the
front .footage of the abutting properties in accordance with the assessment policy.
