AN ORDINANCE c AMENDING TH ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ, OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME, AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY - ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING ARTICLE 7A "T -1" TRAVEL TRAILER PARK, MOBILE HOME PARK, AND MOB ?LE HOME SUBDIVISION DISTRICT, SECTION 7A -2 USE REGULATIONS, SUBSECTION 7A -2.01 TRAVEL TRAILER PARKS, PARAGRAPH (a), SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT TRAVEL TRAILER PARRS MAY CONSIST OF LESS THAN THREE (3) ACRES IF OPERATED IN ;. CONJUNCTION WITH AND CONTIGUOUS TO A MOTEL OPERATION; AMENDING ARTICLE 9 "A -2" APARTMENT HOUSE DISTRICT REGULATIONS, SECTION 9 -2 ILSF REGULATIONS, SUBSECTION (3) SO AS TO PERMIT NURSING HOMES AND HOMES FOR THE AGED IN APARTMENT HOUSE DISTRICTS; KEEPING Iii EFFECT - ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREIUTH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning certain amendments to the text of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and WHEREAS, public hearing Twas held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus thristi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on February 14., 1973, at Special Council Meeting of the City Council in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendments would best serve the public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of • record in Volume 9, pages 565 et seq of the Ordinance and Resolution Records, as amended from time to time, and in particular as amended by Ordinance No. 6106, passed and approved by the City Council on the 29th day of March, 1961, be, and the same is hereby, amended by making the changes hereinafter set out. 11319 ` SECTION 2. That Article 7A "T -1" TRAVEL TRAILER PARK, MOBILE HOME PARK, AND MOBILE HOME SUBDIVISION DISTRICT, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 7A -2 Use Regulations, Subsection 7A -2.01 Travel Trailer Parks, paragraph (a) so as to hereafter read as follows: "(a) A permit to construct, alter or extend any travel trailer park area may be issued only when such area is located within the appropriate zoning district as provided for in this Ordinance and such area consists of at least three (3) acres in size with a minimum frontage of one hundred (100) feet located on a puublic street or highway, provided, however, such area occupied by a travel trailer park may be less than three (3) acres in size if operated in conjunction with and contiguous to a motel operation both of which constitute three (3) acres or more in size." SECTION 3. That Article 9 "A -2" Apartment House District Regulations be amended by amending Section 9 -2 Use Regulations, subsection (8)9 said subsection (8) to hereafter read as follows: ;'(8) Hospitals, nursing ho-.;Les and homes for the aged, but not including animal hospitals, penal and mental treatment institutto•.is, office buildings or clinics." SECTION 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION S. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, which publication shall contain the caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance. SECTION 6. That the necessity of immediately making the aforesaid change for the purpose of maintaining at all times a comprehensive zoning ordinance for the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of February, 1973.
