A RESOLUTION
AMENDING THE MASTER PLAN FOR STORM DRAINAGE
PREPARED IN 1961 AND AS ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION
NO. 7072 1/2 FOR THE AREA BOUNDED BY PADRE ISLAND .
DRIVE, STATE HIGHWAY 44, NAVIGATION BOULEVARD AND
CLIP MAUS DRIVE; PROVIDING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the amendment to the Master Drainage
Plan, as herein set forth, was held on April 24, 1972 at the West Oso High
School; and
WHEREAS, the amendment contained herein is consistent with the 1972
Bond Election Drainage Proposition; and
WHEREAS, said amendment is consistent with the desires of the
West Oso School Board; and
WHEREAS, said amendment is submitted by the City Manager to the
City Council on March 7, 1973, in accordance with the provisions of Article
V, Section 4 of the City Charter:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.. That the Master Plan for Storm Drainage, prepared
in 1961 and as adopted by Resolution No. 7072 1/2, for the area bounded
by Padre Island Drive, State Highway 44, Navigation Boulevard, and Clif
Maus Drive, be and the same is hereby amended so as to provide for the enlarge-
ment of Channel No. 12, shown on Plat No. 37 to extend beyond Bear Lane
to serve the area between Flato Road, State Highway 44, and Bear Lane,
and to modify the location of the outfall proposed along Bear Lane to a
point approximately 2000 linear feet west of Bear Lane beginning at the
Kelly Ditch, paralleling Bear Lane to Padre Island Drive.
SECTION 2. The Master Plan as adopted by the Resolution No.
7072 1/2 shall remain in full force and effect except as amended herein.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this resolution shall be held invalid

or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction,
it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision; clause, phrase,
word, or provision of this resolution, for it is the definite intent of this
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word,
or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 4. The necessity to immediately amend the Master Plan
for Storm Drainage prepared in 1961 and as previously adopted by the City
Council creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requir-
ing the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and
the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having
requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this resolution be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, IT LS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED,

SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; Is THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT 15 INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL. -
