AN ORDINANCE *"
AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 11332, PASSED 4 5
AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON FEBRUARY 28,
1973, SO AS TO CANCEL THE APPROPRIATION OF $15,500
PROVIDED THEREIN AND IN LIEU THEREOF, APPROPRIATING
$1,150 TO SUPPLEMENT $14,000 PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED
BY ORDINANCE N0. 11243, ALL IN CONNECTION WITH
PROJECT NO. 220 -70 -137, INTRACOASTAL CANAL BRIDGE
ILLUMINATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Council, by Ordinance No. 11332, passed and
approved on February 28, 1973, appropriated the sum of $15,500 as the City's
share of the contract between the City of Corpus Christi and the State of
r Texas for construction of roadway illumination system for the Intracoastal
Waterway Bridges and approaches between Stations 187 + 92 and 237 + 40 on
Park Road 22; and
WHEREAS, said appropriation was erroneous; and
WHEREAS, the said City Council at this time desires to cancel the
sum of $15,500 appropriated by the said Ordinance No. 11332 and in lieu there-
of to appropriate the lesser sum of $1,150 to supplement $14,000 previously
appropriated by Ordinance No. 11243:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 11332, passed and
approved by the City Council on February 28, 1973, be and the same is hereby
amended by cancelling the appropriation of $15,500 and in lieu thereof appro-
priating out of No. 220 Street Bond Fund the sum of $1,150 to supplement the
sum of $14,000 appropriated by Ordinance No. 11243, all in connection with
Project No. 220 -70 -137.
SECTION 2. Except as herein amended, the terms and conditions of
Ordinance No. 11332 shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. The necessity to correct the sums necessary to be appro-
priated for the illumination system for the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge and
approaches creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity
requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and

the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having

requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the
day of March, 1973.

RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 1, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
