HomeMy WebLinkAbout11350 ORD - 03/14/1973JRR:jkh:ml:3- 13- 73;lst O AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STATEMENT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVEL- OPMENT TO BE USED IN CONSIDERATION FOR AN ANNUAL ARRANGEMENTS AGREEMENT, A MADE PART HEREOF BY REFERENCE FOR ALL PERTINENT PURPOSES AS IF COPIED VERBATIM HEREIN; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized and directed to submit a Community Development Statement to the Department of Housing and Urban Development to be used in consideration for an annual arrangements agreement, a copy of said statement being on file in the office of the City Secretary, identified by his signature, and made a part hereof by reference . for all pertinent purposes as if copied verbatim herein. `SECTION 2. The necessity to submit the aforesaid statement to the Department of Housing and Urban Development: at the earliest, practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no or or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY So ORDAINED, this the / il: day of March, 1973.
