AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO AN AGENCY ESCROW AGREEMENT WITH U.S.
LIFE TITLE AND /OR THE OFFICIAL CITY DEPOSITORY
TO PAY THE UNIVERSITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI OR ITS
DULY AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE THE SUM OF
$1,500,000 BOND PROCEEDS FOR ACQUISITION OF AN
UPPER LEVEL COLLEGE SITE AT CORPUS CHRISTI; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to enter into an agency escrow agreement with U. S. Life
Title and /or the official City Depository to pay the University of Corpus
Christi or its duly authorized representative the sum of $1,500,000 bond
proceeds for acquisition of an upper level college site at Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. The necessity t °j enter into the aforesaid agreement
at the earliest practicable date in order that the acquisition of site
for ,in upper level college in Corpus Christi be completed as soon as
posst�Te creates a public emergency :nd an imperativ.. public necessity

requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolu-
tion shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such
ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to
exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that
this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and
take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this.tYLq

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY •CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING
ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 11 THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
