AN ORDINANCE
CLOSING THAT PORTION OF WEBER PARKWAY BEGINNING
AT THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF HERNDON STREET AND
EXTENDING IN A NORTHWARD DIRECTION TO THE BAY
SHORE BIBLE CHURCH PROPERTY, IN HOPPER ADDITION
UNIT 2, IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES
COUNTY, TEXAS, SUBJECT TO THE RETENTION BY THE
CITY OF A 10 -FOOT UTILITY EASEMENT WHERE EXISTING
UTILITY LINES ARE LOCATED; PROVIDING FOR SEVER -
ABILITY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, notice of the time and place for holding a
hearing concerning the closing of a portion of Weber Parkway,
beginning at the north boundary line of Herndon Street and
extending in a northward direction to the Bay Shore Bible Church
Property, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas,
was given by publication and mailed to the last known address of
the owners of property abutting said street and within 450 feet
of the area to be closed and thereafter, pursuant to said notice,
public hearing was held at Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Corpus Christi on Wednesday, December 20, 1972,
in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter; and
WHEREAS, it was determined by the City Council after
such hearing that it would best serve the public convenience
and necessity to close the street within the limits hereinabove
set forth, and more fully described hereinafter, for use as a
public street, subject to retention of a 10 -foot utility easement
where existing utility lines are located:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described portion of
Weber Parkway, from the north boundary line of Herndon Street
extending in a northward direction to the property presently
belonging to the Bay Shore Bible Church, in the City of Corpus 7
Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be and the same is hereby closed
for use as a public street and hereby reverts to the abutting
property owners, the west one -half of the area being closed

reverting to the owner of Lot 6, Block 6 of Hopper Addition
Unit 2, and the east one -half of the area being closed reverting
to the City of Corpus Christi, subject to the retention by the
City of a 10 -foot utility easement where existing utility lines
are located:
Being that portion of Weber Parkway north of
Herndon Street and east of Lot 6, Block 6,
Hopper Addition Unit 2, as shown by map of
record in Volume 20, page 88, Map Records of
Nueces County, Texas, said Weber Parkway being
more particularly described by metes and bounds
as follows:
Beginning at the most easterly corner of said
Lot 6, the intersection of its northeast line
With the west right of way line of said Weber
Parkway for the most northerly and beginning corner
of the tract herein described;
Thence S. 31° 06' E. with the Northeast line
of said Hopper Addition Unit 2, a distance of
68.25 feet to a point, its most easterly corner
thereof for the most easterly corner of the
tract herein described;
Thence S. 20 44' W. with the east right of way
line of said Weber Parkway, a distance of 51.12
feet to a point in the north right of way line of
said Herndon Street for the southeast corner of
the tract herein described;
Thence in a westerly direction with the north
right of way line of said Herndon Street, and
With the arc of a curve to the right whose central
angle is 190 36' 01 ", and whose radius is 143.0
feet, an arc distance of 48.92 feet to a point,
the P.T. of said curve for a corner of the tract
herein described;
Thence N. 87° 16' W. a distance of 10.03 feet to
the P.C. of a curve at the south right of way line
of said Lot 6, for the most westerly corner of the
tract herein described;
Thence in a northeasterly and northerly direction
with the are of a curve to the left whose central
angle is 90° 00', and whose radius is 20.0 feet,
an arc distance of 31.41 feet to a point, the P.T.
of said curve in the east line of said Lot 6, for
a corner of this tract;
Thence N. 20 44' E. with the east line of said Lot 6,
the west right of way line of said Weber Parkway, a
distance of 96.00 feet to the point of beginning.
Containing 3387.45 square feet of land more or less.

SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph,
subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance
shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of
a court of competent jurisdiction it shall not affect any other
section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision
of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect.
SECTION 3. The fact that the public convenience and
necessity would be better served by the closing of the said street
as aforesaid creates a public emergency and an imperative public
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of
its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be
read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having
requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordi-
nance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take
effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage

NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
