A: AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY TO
H. DURWARD THOMPSON, JR., THE FOLLOWING
DESCRIBED PROPERTY::
A TRIANGULAR SHAPED TRACT OF LAND WHICH
LIES ADJACENT TO LOT 6, BLOCK 6, HOPPER
ADDITION UNIT 2, CONTAINING 1,876.7 SQUARE
FEET OF LAND, MORE OR LESS,
UPON PAYMENT OF THE CASH CONSIDERATION AS
SHOWN HEREIN; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby
authorized and directed to convey, on behalf of the City of Corpus
Christi, the following described property to H. Durward Thompson,
Jr., upon payment of the cash consideration of $375.00:
Being a triangular shaped tract of land out of
a portion of that part of Weber Parkway east of
and adjacent to Lot 6, Block 6, Hopper Addition
Unit 2, as shown by map of record in Volume 20,
Page 88, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, and
out of a portion of Port Aransas Cliffs, said
triangular tract being more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a point in the Northeast boundary
line of said Hopper Addition Unit 2, at its inter-
section with the centerline of said Weber Parkway,
said point being S. 31° 06' E., 34.12 feet from the
most easterly corner of said Lot 6, for the most
northerly and beginning corner of the tract herein
described;
Thence S. 31° 06' E., with the east boundary line of
said Hopper Addition Unit 2, and its extension, at
34.12 feet pass the east right -of -way line of said
Weber Parkway, in all a distance of 80.83 feet to a
point in the North right -of -way line of Herndon Street
for the Southeast corner of the tract herein described;
Thence with the north right -of -way line of said Herndon
Street and with the arc of a curve to the right whose
central angle is 19° 27' 42" and whose radius is 143.0
feet, an arc distance of 48.58 feet to a point in the
centerline of said Weber Parkway for the southwest
corner of the tract herein described;
Thence N. 21 44' E., with the centerline of said Weber
Parkway, a distance of 84.78 feet to the point of
beginning.
Containing 1876.7 square feet of land more or less.

SECTION 2. The necessity to convey the aforesaid
parcel, for the sum designated, to H. Durward Thompson, Jr.,
at the earliest possible date, creates a public emergency and
an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and
necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the
Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, it is ACCORDINGLY SO

SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED
KNOW ALL MEN BY TIiESE PRESENTS:
That the City of Corpus Christi, hereinafter called
Grantor, for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred
Seventy -five Dollars ($375.00) to Grantor in hand paid by H.
Durward Thompson, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged,
and for which no lien is retained, either expressed or implied,
has this day sold, and by these presents does GRANT, BARGAIN,
SELL and CONVEY unto the said H. Durward Thompson all that
certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the
County of Nueces, State of Texas, more particularly described
as follows, to -wit:
Being a triangular shaped tract of land out of
a portion of that part of Weber Parkway east of
and adjacent to Lot 6, Block 6, Hopper Addition
Unit 2, as shown by map of record in Volume 20,
Page 88, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, and
out of a portion of Port Aransas Cliffs, said
triangular tract being more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows:

34.12 feet pass the east right -of -way line of said
Weber Parkway, in all a distance of 80.83 feet to a
point in the North right -cf -way line of Herndon Street
for the Southeast corner of the tract herein described;
Thence with the north right -of -way line of said Herndon
Street and with the arc of a curve to the right Whose
central angle is 190 27' 42" and whose radius is 143.0
feet, an arc distance of 48.58 feet to a point in the
centerline of said Weber Parkway for the southwest
corner of the tract herein described;
Thence N. 2° 44' E., with the centerline of said Weber
Parkway, a,distance of 84.78 feet to the point of
beginning.
Containing 1876.7 square feet of land more.or less.

To HAVE and to HOLD the above described premises herein
conveyed, together with all and singular the rights and appurtenances
thereto in anywise belonging to the said H. Durward Thompson, his
heirs and assigns, forever, and Grantor does hereby bind itself,
its successors and assigns, to warrant and forever defend all and
singular the said premises herein conveyed against every person
whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part
thereof by, through, or under Grantor, but not otherwise.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, this instrument is executed on this

City Manager of the City of Corpus Christi, a
municipal corporation, known to me to be the person and officer

deed of said City of Corpus Christi for the purposes and consider -
ation therein expressed and in the capacity therein stated.

SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
