' WHEREAS, heretofore on the 16th day of May , 19 73, the City Council by enactment of Ordinance No. 11475 determined that it was necessary to improve the following by paving: Prescott Street Improvements, from the North Right -, of -Way line of Gollihar Road to the South property line of Lot 5, Block 14, Temple Addition; ,, �;• and x WHEREAS, by the terms of said ordinance,' specifications were ordered to be made by the Director of Engineering ,Services, for the ' improvement of the aforesaid streets, within the I' its defined, as pro - vided by said ordinance; and WHEREAS, the said specifications have been prepared and are now sub, to the City Council for approval and adoption; and , R ~ �= WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus` Christi is of the opinion that,it is necessary to levy an assessment^sgainst the property and the owners thereof'abutting' upon the aforesaid streets, within the y, limits defined, and against street and railway companies whose tracks ,occupy said street_, if any, for a part of the cost of,improving said street, fir.irg a time for the hearing of the owners of said prone ty, aZd r the said railway companies, concerning the same, and directing the Cit • w Secretary, to gi.v ;notice cf ^said hearing, as required by law; and, WHEREAS, the-City Council has'heretofore; by ordinance, ordered ihe­improvemerts of the street .and portions enumerated „ above. That the specifications so presented to the City w., IN. . That the' City Secretary be, and he is hereby, instructed to advertise for sealed bids for the construction of the i. +, improvements called for by this ordinance, such advertisement for bids to; , 4 � be published in the Corpus Christi Times,Ythe official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, which is a newspaper of general circulation in the City =of Corpus Christi: The advertisement shall be published at least once in each week for two (2) *consecutive weeks. That there is hereby found and determined that the cost of improvements on the hereinafter described streets with the amount w � or amounts per front foot proposed to be assessed for such improvements against abutting property and the owners thereof, and against street and railway companies whose tracks occupy said streets, if any, are as follows, to -wit: R wr IV .t M e Preliminary Assessment Roll �r « PRESCOTT STREET IIROVE;fENTS FROM THE NORTH RIGHT OF tdAY LPIE OF GOLLIHAR ROAD TO THy IPTERSECTION OF THE CROSSTMal EY.PRESSWAY This street shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the laying of a standard curb and gutter section, 5" lime stabilized subgrade, 8" compacted caliche base and 2;" Type "B" hot -mix, and lz" Type "D" hot -mix surface, for a pavement width of 45' measured from the back to back of curb except at the intersection of Horne Road where a pavement -width increases to 56' to permit an additional turn lane. The project also includes the construction of reinforced concrete sidewalk 4" thick varying in width from 4' to 5' and standard driveways where required or by owners request. The assessment rates have been calculated based on the unit bid prices submitted by the low bidder Burtex Constructors, and in accordance with the paving assessment policy of the City. 1 Based on these calculations the assessment rates are as follows: Curb, Gutter & Pavement $10.85 per l.f. `• Pavement Only 7.90 per l.f. Sidewalk .65 per s.f. Driveway 1.24.per s.f.
