AN ORDINANCE
TEXAS:
APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND
$1765 FOR ACQUISITION OF PARCEL 11, SOUTH STAPLES
STREET IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 220 -70 -107,
SAID SUMS INCLUDING COMMISSIONERS' FEES, APPRAISERS
COSTS, COURT COSTS AND AWARD OF SPECIAL COMMISSIONERS,
ACQUIRED FROM CALVIN WALLACE, ET UX, IN CONDEMNATION
PROCEEDINGS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of No. 220 Street
Bond Fund the sum of $1765 for acquisition from Calvin Wallace and wife,
Margaret Wallace, of Parcel 11, South Staples Street Improvements Project,
No. 220 -70 -107, in condemnation proceedings, being Cause No. 664, styled
City of Corpus Christi v. Calvin F. Wallace, et al, said sums hereby being
appropriated to include Award of Special Commissioners, Commissioners' fees,
appraiser's costs and court costs.
SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately appropriate the sums
hereinabove set forth in order that the City may take possession of the
parcel for the improvement of South Staples Street creates a public emergency
and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of
its introduction but that such resolution or ordinance shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that
such public emergency and necessity exist, and having requested that such
Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 30,nP

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
