YOUNG CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE PUMP STATION "A" GATE REPLACEMENT; APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 121 GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND, ACTIVITY 4941, CODE 502, $90,000. OF SAID APPROPRIATION $87,854 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $2,146 IS FOR CONTINGENCIES AND INCI- DENTAL EXPENSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute a contract with W. T. Young Construction Company for the Pump Station "A" Gate Replacement, all as is more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of W. T. Young Construction Company, opened on the 16th day of May, 1973, the said bid of W. T. Young Construction Company being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated and reappropriated out of the No. 121 General Revenue Sharing Fund, Activity 4941, Code 502, the sum of $90,000, of which $87,854 is for the construction contract and $2,146 is for contingencies and incidental expenses. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the sums hereinabove set out at the earliest possible date so that construction may commence, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of June, 1973. _ ATTE % City Secre a I MAYO l/ sir THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS APPROVED: AY F JUNE, 1973: Ci y Attorney "`,;► ,¢ X11519 O CITY`OF CORPUS CHRISTI, Tt}C S CERTIFICATION OF FUNDS (City Charter Article IV Section 21) June 12, 1973 I certify to the City Council that $ 90,000.00 , the amount required for the contract, agreement, obligation or expenditures contemplated in the above and foregoing ordinance is in the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi to the credit of: Fund No. and Name 121 General Revenue Sharing Fund Project No. 4941, Code 502 Project Name PUmn Station "A" Gate Replacement from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not appropriated for any other purpose. 19� Director of pJtAnce FIN 2 -55 Revised 7/31/69 Corpus Christi, Texas %3-4k day of 19 TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen- sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi- nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
