WHEREAS, PUBLIC HEARING WAS HELD AT WHICH HEARING ALL PERSONS

July 5, 1973 , AT SPecial COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL IN THE COUNCIL CHA14BER AT CITY HALL, IN THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI; AND
WHEREAS, BY MOTION DULY MADE, SECONDED AND CARRIED, IT WAS
DECIDED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THAT TO APPROVE THE HEREINAFTER SET FORTH
AMENDMENT WOULD BEST SERVE PUBLIC HEALTH, NECESSITY AIJD CONVENlCNCE AND
THE GENERAL WELFARE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND ITS CITIZENS:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI,"_TEXAS, PASSED ON THE 27TH DAY -OF AUGUST, 1937, APPEARING OF
RECORD ;IN VOLUME 91 PAGES 565, ET SEC, OF THE ORDINANCE AIJD RESOLUTION
RECORDS, AS AMENDED FROM TIME 1'0 TIME, AND IN PARTICULAR AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, BE AND THE SAME 15 HEREBY AMENDED BY
MAILING THE CIIANGI. HEREINAFTER SET OUT.

SECTION 2. THAT THE zoNING or' the following described portion of
Lot 8, Block A, Joslin Tract, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County,
Texas, be and the same is hereby changed from "R -1B" One Family Dwelling
District and "B -4" General Business District to "T -1" Travel Trailer Park,
Mobile Home Park, Mobile Home Subdivision:
Being a portion of Lot 8, Block A, Joslin Tract, as recorded
in Volume 39, page 65, Nueces County 11ap Records, Nueces County,
Texas;
Beginning at a 5/8" iron rod in the southeast corner of
Lot 8, Block B, Joslin Tract, such point also being on the north
right -of -way line of South Padre Island Drive;
Thence north 29° 23 minutes 00 seconds east for a distance
of 886.95' to a 5/8" iron rod;
Thence north 60° 40 minutes 00 seconds west for a distance
of 330' to a point for corner;
Thence south 29° 23 minutes 00 seconds west for a distance of
902.71' to a 518" iron rod;
Thence south 63° 24 minutes 00 seconds east along the north
right -of -way line of South Padre Island Drive to the place of
beginning, such area containing approximately 6.78 acres of
land, more or less.
SECTION 3. THAT THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS, DE, AND THE SAME IS HEREBY, AMENDED AS HEREIN ORDAINED.
SECTION II. THAT THE: ZONING ORDINANCE AND IIAP of THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, APPROVED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, AS
AMENDED FROM TIME 1'0 TIME, EXCEPT AS HEREIN CHANGED, SHALL REMAIN IN
FULL FORCE AND EFFECT.
SECTION 5. THAT ALL ORDIIANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY REPEALED.
SECTION 6. THAT THE NECESSITY OF IMMEDIATELY MAKING AFORESAID
CHANGE FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING AT ALL TIMES A COMPREHENSIVE ZONING
ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI CREATES A PUBLIC EI-0ERGENCY AND
A14 IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER
RULE THAT NO GRDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE
OF ITS INTRODUCTION A14D THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ
AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING
DECLARED THAT SUCH EHCRGEIICY AND NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED

THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE. DE PAssED
FINALLY ON TtL DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND DE IN FULL
FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
