the City of Corpus Christi�exgs, convened in _`7 - e.� /_a eeting,
with the following members of said Council pres t, to -wit:
Jason M. Luby, Mayor
Ricardo Gonzalez
Capt. J. T. Acuff
Rev. Harold T. Branch
Commissioners
Thomas V. Gonzales
Gabe Lozano, Sr.
J. Howard Stark °
T. Ray Kring, Secretary
with the following absent:
constituting a quorum, at which time the following among other
business was transacted:
Mr. Luby, Mayor, presented for the consideration of the
Council a resolution. The resolution was read by-the City
Secretary. The Mayor presented to the Council a communication
in writing pertaining to said proposed resolution, as follows:
"Corpus Christi, TX
"TO THE CITY COUNCIL
Corpus Christi, TX
Gentlemen:
"The public importance and pressing need to obtainla
favorable ruling as to the tax exempt status of the Cow p s
Christi Airport Development Corporation and the interest on
the Corporation's proposed bonds and the public importance
and pressing need for the permanent improvements to be con-
structed by use of the proceeds of the proposed bonds create
an emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring

the suspension of rules and Charter provisions requiring reso-
lutions to be considered and voted upon at three regular meetings
I, therefore, request that the City Council pass the proposed
resolution as an emergency measure. You will please consider
this request in connection with the resolution which is to be
introduced for passage by the City Council on this 'subject.

Commissioner Ai_d_ moved that the Charter provision
prohibiting resolutions from being passed finally on the date
introduced be suspended for the reasons stated in the written
request of the Mayor and stated in the emergency clans of the
resolution. The motion was seconded by Commissioner ,c,-.-4

The motion was carried by an unanimous vote by the City ouncil,
viz:
AYES: Commissioners Gonzalez, Acuff, Branch, Gonzales,
Lozano, and Stark.
NAYS: None.
The Mayor requested that the records show that he voted Aye.
This was done.
Commissioner c/ moved that the resolutio bef% passed
finally. The motion was's conded by Commissioner

AYES: Commissioners Gonzalez, Acuff, Branch, Gonzales,
Lozano, and Stark.
NAYS: None.
