HomeMy WebLinkAbout11620 ORD - 08/08/1973\ / JRR:jkh:8 -7 -73; 1st` �s Ct to AN ORDINANCE • AUTHORIZING EXPANSION BY $5,100 OF THE CONTRACT WITH TRINITY TESTING LABORATORY TO PERFORM LABORATORY AND TESTING SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE HILLCREST AREA STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, SAID CONTRACT WITH TRINITY TESTING LABORATORY HAVING ORIGINALLY BEEN AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 10537, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON OCTOBER 27, 1971, SAID INCREASE TO BE PAID FROM CONTINGENCY APPROPRIATIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 10429, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON AUGUST-25, 1971; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby given for expansion of the contract with Trinity Testing Laboratory to perform laboratory and testing services in connection with the Hillcrest Area Street Improvements Project, Project No. 220 -67 -92.4, by $5,100, said increase to be paid from contingency appropriations of Ordinance No. 10429, passed and approved by the City Council on August 25, 1971, the contract with Trinity Testing Laboratory as aforesaid having been originally authorized by Ordinance No. 10537, passed and approved by the City Council on October 27, 1971. SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately authorize expansion of the laboratory and testing service contract with Trinity Testing Laboratory as aforesaid creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution S shall be passed finally on the date of its introducthn and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 0 day of August, 1973.
