HomeMy WebLinkAbout11626 ORD - 08/08/1973JRR:jkh:8 -8 -73; 1st a , � w .,r AN ORDINANCE f AhENDING,ORDINANCE NO. 3658, AS AMENDED, BY DELETING y' CERTAIN POSITIONS AND BY CREATING CERTAIN POSITIONS, BY AMENDING SECTION 4 THEREOF; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 4 of said Ordinance No. 3658, be, and the same is hereby, amended by deleting the following position: JOB CODE= CLASS TITLE GRADE 157 Trainee 6 SECTION 2. That Section 4 of said Ordinance No. 3658, be, and the ' same is hereby, amended by adding the following classifications: JOB CODE CLASS TITLE CLASS GRADE 170 Operation Mainstream Trainee -- 171 Neighborhood Youth Corps Trainee -- SECTION 3. The effective date of the above changes shall be ;. • i August 6 1974 SECTION 4. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, Phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.' SECTION 5. The fact that there is a need to maintain an efficient administration of City affairs and the necessity to immediately delete and to create positions to provide such efficient administration creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency to exist, having requested the suspension of said .
