HomeMy WebLinkAbout11636 ORD - 08/15/1973JRR:vp:8 -15 -73 -1st ' AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF LOTS 3 AND 4, BLOCK 9, MEADOW PARK ADDITION, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE EXPANSION OF CHIQUITO PARK; APPROPRIATING $4,400 OUT OF NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND, WHICH AMOUNT IS TO BE TRANSFERRED FROM NO. 121 GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND, ACTIVITY 5602, CODE 501, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 291- 70 -18; OF SAID APPROPRIATION, $4,000 IS FOR LAND AND IMPROVEMENTS AND $400 IS FOR INCIDENTAL COSTS RELATED TO THE CLOSING OF THE PURCHASE OF AFORESAID LOTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute all documents necessary for the acquisition of Lots 3 and 4, Block 9, Meadow Park Addition, in conjunction with the expansion of Chiquito Park, applicable to Project No. 291- 70 -18. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of No. 291 Park Bond Fund $4,400, which amount is to be transferred from No. 121 General Revenue Sharing Fund, Activity 5602, Code 501; of said appropriation $4,000 is for acquisition of land and improvements and $400 is for incidental costs related to the closing of the purchase of aforesaid lots. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize the City Manager to execute the necessary documents for the acquisition of the above lots, and the appro- priation of the necessary funds to accomplish this purchase, so that expansion of Chiquito Park may proceed at the earliest possible date, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and ~ � C36 effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDA=, this the _L day of August, 1973.
